Aleisha Whipple graduated with her undergraduate degree in Biology EEE (Environmental Biology, Ecology, Evolution) and a minor in Sustainable Development in 2025. During her undergraduate years, she served as Sustainability Chair in her sorority, Delta Zeta, and participated in a variety of sustainability-focused extracurriculars and clubs. As part of her degree, she studied abroad in New Zealand as a Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship recipient, where she learned about Pacific Indigenous cultures and climate change strategies. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s degree in Geography and Planning, researching the complex interactions between climate change and human health, while also serving as the QEP Graduate Assistant. In this role, she engages students with climate knowledge, skills, and action. Through her student engagement efforts, she founded the Mountaineer Climate Corps, a group that explores positive climate action on campus through projects, volunteering, and workshops. As a systems thinker, Aleisha examines climate change across multiple levels and scales and hopes to bring this perspective into her future career.

This panel features youth leaders, advocates and innovators who are organizing, educating, and driving change in their schools and communities. Panelists will discuss intergenerational responsibility and how young voices are influencing policy, culture and environmental justice movements across the Carolinas.
