Allison Rhodes stepped into the role of Executive Director of TreesCharlotte in 2024, bringing a deep passion for nonprofit leadership and community-driven initiatives. Born and raised in Anderson, South Carolina, Allison moved to Charlotte during high school and quickly grew to love the Queen City. She went on to earn a degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, setting the stage for a career rooted in service and community impact.

Allison’s nonprofit career began at United Way of Greater Charlotte, where she spent five years building relationships with major gift donors and corporate partners. Her talent for fostering connections and driving development laid the foundation for her next role as Development Director at Sustain Charlotte. In her tenure at Sustain Charlotte, she led the charge in expanding events and corporate relationships and building partnerships with community leaders which helped to grow the organization’s influence in the sustainability space.

Now, as the Executive Director of TreesCharlotte, Allison is excited to lead the organization at a time when its mission is more critical than ever. With Charlotte’s rapid growth, aging tree canopy, and increasing environmental challenges, she’s committed to ensuring the city’s trees thrive for generations to come. Allison is eager to continue building on the success of her predecessors while bringing her own vision to the table.

Outside of work, Allison enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends, embracing the same love for nature that drives her professional life. She’s proud to call Charlotte home and is dedicated to growing and stewarding the city’s tree canopy and making Charlotte more sustainable for all.
