Bailey Recktenwald serves as a climate change policy advisor to Governor Roy Cooper where she advises on issues related to natural and working lands, climate resilience and adaptation, and state lead-by-example initiatives. In her role, she briefs the governor and senior staff on emerging policy issues and coordinates implementation of the governor’s climate policy priorities across state government. Previously, Recktenwald served as the Chief Strategy Officer at the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality. She received her bachelor’s degrees in public policy and geography from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her master’s in public administration from Clemson University.
